Meet Sandy

Original Resident • Self-Appointed Management • Lap Menace

Sandy was the first cat in the house, and in her mind, that means she should still be running the place. Unfortunately for her, the other cats — and reality — disagree.

Her favorite hobby is demanding affection with absolute urgency, only to immediately become offended by the quality of the affection being provided. Once she climbs into your lap and starts yelling for scritches, you are committed to the process. There are no breaks. There is no escape. There is only Sandy. Eventually, after enough incorrect petting and several warning bites, she will decide the interaction is over and leave dramatically.

Sandy is also a cat of very refined tastes when it comes to toys. She plays with exactly one thing:
The Green Ball™.

Other toys are beneath her. If the green ball cannot be located, she may reluctantly accept the red ball under protest. Oddly enough, science backs this up — cats don’t actually see red the same way humans do, so red and green can appear fairly similar to them. Sandy, however, would probably insist the green one is still objectively superior.
